ARX Robotics announced that it has successfully completed the development of a fully software-defined land system capable of operating in a teleoperated mode and, optionally, autonomously.
The initiative demonstrates how traditional logistics platforms can be rapidly converted to meet the demands of modern warfare, reducing personnel exposure to direct threats.
The project is based on recent advances in safety-certified drive-by-wire technologies. Building on this concept, the team removed the driver from the cab, transferring vehicle control to operators located at a safe distance from the battlefield. According to the company, this approach reflects the evolution of ground combat, in which the direct human presence inside vehicles is no longer an essential requirement.
