Instagram users are being urged to ignore emails requuesting they change their passwords, even if the emails appear legitimate.
A spokesperson for Meta confirmed an external party had been able to access the social media platform's password reset emails, and a fix had now been issued.
Anyone who has received these emails should ignore them, the spokesperson said.
