The Selangor state government will take immediate steps to phase out traditional pig farming operations in the state and replace them with modern farming practices to address the persistent pollution problem.
Its Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, said the conventional method of rearing pigs had been found to cause foul odours and water pollution in the past.
