The technology secretary, Liz Kendall, has told MPs the government will legislate to ban the supply of nudification apps, and that a law making it illegal to create non-consensual intimate images will be brought into force this week.
She was speaking in the Commons about the way the Grok AI tool has been used by X users to digitally undress women and children, creating sexualised deepfake images.
