Hard Stuff — Bolex Dementia 1973 (UK, Hard Rock)

The band's second album was released in March 1973, and despite the familiar hard rock format from their previous work, it was still sonically more diverse and experimental than its predecessor. It clearly draws influences from blues, funk, and even, at times, heavier psychedelia and jazz rock. The album was released in the UK and US with different artwork, and the American edition featured the sides reversed. Hard Stuff toured extensively in Europe (especially Germany and Italy), often supporting Deep Purple and Uriah Heep, but their career was interrupted after Paul Hammond and John Du Cann were involved in a serious car accident in Belgium, sustaining serious injuries that required extensive medical treatment. After a period of limbo, the band finally disbanded in 1973, at the peak of its creative output.
