In Quito, social movements and citizens gathered in front of the Simón Bolívar monument to raise their voices against imperialism and to express solidarity with the Venezuelan people. The demonstration also paid tribute to those who died in the January 3 attack in Caracas, including Cubans and Venezuelans who lost their lives defending national sovereignty. Protesters called on peoples worldwide to mobilize in the face of U.S. aggression and to strengthen unity across Latin America.
