Stone Proctectors is about an Empress Opal of Mythrandir splits the legendary Great Crystal into six pieces to keep it out of Zok's hands. The story follows a struggling New York rock band called the Rock Detectors. After being kicked out of a gig, they discover five magical stones from the dimension of Mythrandir. Touching the stones transforms them into muscle-bound warriors with spiky "troll hair" and unique superpowers.
Cornelius (Green Stone): Lead singer and leader; became a samurai using microphone nunchucks.
Chester (Red/Orange Stone): Bass/sax player; became a super-strong wrestler.
Clifford (Blue Stone): Drummer; became a radical rock climber.
Angus (Yellow Stone): Keyboardist; a soldier who builds weapons and vehicles from everyday items like lawnmowers.
Maxwell (Orange/Red Stone): Guitarist; an "accelerator" who uses in-line skates for speed.
They fight the music-hating Zok and his henchman Zink, reptilian creatures (Saurians) who want the crystals to conquer Mythrandir. Stone Protectors was on Syndication. Stone Protectors debuted in 1993 and lasted for only one season of 13 episodes.
