‘धुरंधर’ की सफलता के बाद Akshaye Khanna की अगली फिल्मों को लेकर कई अटकलें उड़ रही थीं। खासकर यह सुना गया कि वह ‘Race 4’ फ्रैंचाइज़ी में वापसी कर सकते हैं, जिसमें पहले Saif Ali Khan और Akshaye ने Race (2008) में भूमिका निभाई थी। लेकिन प्रोड्यूसर Ramesh Taurani ने इन अफवाहों को खारिज करते हुए साफ़ कहा कि अब तक Akshaye से संपर्क नहीं हुआ है और फिल्म में उनकी भूमिका जोड़ने का कोई विचार नहीं है। Taurani ने यह भी बताया कि कास्ट अभी फाइनल नहीं हुई है और स्क्रिप्ट पर काम जारी है। इस बयान से ‘Race 4’ में Akshaye की वापसी की चर्चाओं पर विराम लग गया है।
