As the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee resumed its hearing on the alleged flood control anomaly, progressive groups led by Sanlakas staged a protest at the Senate of the Philippines on Monday, January 19.
Joined by the Philippine Alliance of Human Rights Advocates (PAHRA), Philippine Movement for Climate Justice (PMCJ), Partido Lakas ng Masa (PLM), Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (BMP), and Samahan ng Mamamayan–Zone One Tondo Organization (SM-ZOTO), the demonstrators criticized what they called the failure of existing accountability mechanisms to go after the “big fish.” (via Mark Balmores | MB)
