China’s Foreign Ministry has urged the United States to stop using the so-called “China threat” to justify tariff pressure linked to Greenland. Speaking in Beijing, spokesperson Guo Jiakun criticised U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff threats as self-serving and destabilising, calling instead for cooperation to support global economic growth. Guo rejected claims that China seeks control over Greenland, stressed respect for international law, and highlighted China’s role as a driver of global economic stability.
