New South Wales has extended protest restrictions for another two weeks in parts of Sydney. For the next fortnight public assemblies will be restricted in the eastern suburbs police area command and in most parts of Sydney’s CBD, excluding Hyde Park. The ban has been in place since Christmas Eve, under new powers created in response to the Bondi terror attack. Community organisations and activists say they will defy the ban on January 26 and proceed with a rally and march as part of planned invasion day protests.
