Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said statements by top European and NATO leaders show they are seriously preparing for a war with Russia and are not attempting to conceal their intentions.
Lavrov named EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, saying their recent remarks indicate open preparation for confrontation with Moscow.
He said Western leaders are no longer hiding what he described as plans for military escalation, warning that such rhetoric reflects a dangerous direction in relations between Russia and the West.
The comments come amid heightened tensions over Ukraine, NATO expansion, defense spending, and growing military deployments across Europe.
