At least 13 people were injured after an explosion struck an apartment building in Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Adygea. Regional officials initially blamed a Ukrainian drone, but later statements avoided specifying the weapon used. Independent analysts suggest the damage may have been caused by a Russian air defence missile that went off course. The incident comes as diplomatic activity involving Russia, Ukraine and the United States intensifies on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, where discussions around a possible peace framework are underway.
