The government has recovered about RM34mil in scam funds from mule bank accounts in 2025, with RM6.7mil of that amount returned to victims, says Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
Speaking during Ministry Question Time at parliament on Tuesday (Jan 27), Saifuddin attributed the significant increase in recovered funds from RM508,479 in 2024 was aided by 24-hour operations at the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) and more staff.
Saifuddin added that 50 cases involving mule accounts were recorded under Section 424 of the Penal Code, with 20 cases leading to court charges.
