Quezon honored during International Holocaust Remembrance Day
Israel’s Ambassador to the Philippines, Dana Kursh, leads a candlelight ceremony at the National Museum of Natural History in Manila on Jan. 27, 2026. Six candles were lit up symbolizing the six million Jewish people who died during the Holocaust. The International Holocaust Remembrance Day honored the late president Manuel L. Quezon for his role in granting asylum to about 1,300 Jewish refugees from various parts of Europe during the Nazi regime.
