John Elway is one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in NFL history. With a resume that nearly any pro QB would die for, it’s no surprise he’s forever enshrined in the Hall of Fame and remembered as one of the game's greats. There’s really no argument against that. However, there was a time when that type of success didnt appear likely. An unforeseen period where he nearly forced his way out of football altogether. An extremely talented player, sure, but someone who would never win a championship.
