President Prabowo Subianto revealed that the Free Nutritious Meal Program (Makan Bergizi Gratis or MBG) has absorbed one million workers. These jobs have been created since the MBG was launched in January 2025.
"We all understand that our people need jobs, but if we just shout, criticize, and scold, they won't be created. I prove to you all, Prabowo Subianto as the President of the Republic of Indonesia, I have created 1 million jobs just from the MBG," said Prabowo during the '2026 National Coordination Meeting of Central and Regional Government' in Sentul, Bogor, on Monday (2/2).
Prabowo stated that 60 million beneficiaries have received MBG. To date, there are 22,275 Nutrition Service Fulfillment Units (Satuan Pemenuhan Pelayanan Gizi or SPPG), with 13,829 of them currently under assessment.
"Our MBG has reached 60 million (beneficiaries) today, and we will reach 82 million by December 2026 at the latest," he said.
"If we reach 82 million (beneficiaries) by the end, we will create 3-5 million jobs," Prabowo added.
Prabowo emphasized that the government understands the people need jobs. However, job opportunities, he said, will not be created by merely shouting, criticizing, and scolding.
"So here's the thing, if you dislike 2 or 3 individuals, don't ruin the entire nation. If you dislike Prabowo, that's fine, let's compete in 2029," he concluded.
