The video, filmed by Wang Meixiang in Baoding, Hebei, shows a small carpet lying near the stove on a tiled kitchen floor.
Moments after the range hood is switched on, a strong stream of air begins pushing through the room.
Within seconds, the edge of the carpet lifts slightly, then ripples and starts to glide forward.
The fabric slowly creeps away from its original spot in a smooth motion, creating the illusion that it’s moving on its own.
The airflow continues nudging the carpet farther across the tiles until it finally comes to a stop near the edge of the kitchen.
