Zendik — Zendik 1972 (USA, Hippie Psychedelic, Raga Rock)
Wulf Zendik (Lawrence E. Wulfing) was born on October 7, 1920, in El Paso, Texas, and spent his youth in California, raised by German-Indian parents. In the late 1940s and early 1950s, he became interested in music, but soon gave it up and devoted himself to poetry and writing. He was practically a guru among the creative youth of the time. At the age of 40, he decided to return to music. In a tiny studio, he began designing and building various musical instruments, including brass and percussion instruments, combining guitar and sitar, and so on. He began performing again in small cafes and clubs. On his farm, he and his wife, Carol Merson (a.k.a. Arol Wulf), founded the creative commune "Zendik Arts," which became the base for a group of young musicians. They traveled extensively across America on a school bus, performing theatrical and musical performances. In short, they were one of the legendary figures of the American underground. He died on September 12, 1999. After his death, Zendik Arts continued its founder's philosophy by promoting art and an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
