39.4 — Rock Sound 1972 (Mexico, Jazz, Psychedelic, Progressive Rock)

A band from Guadalajara. They released their only LP in 1972 on CBS (the original vinyl is extremely rare). After its release, the band broke up, and some members joined the band Bandido. Although the original sleeve has song titles in Spanish, the lyrics are in English. Vocalist Enrique Sánchez Ruíz sings without a single accent. The band boasts a large horn section, rare in Mexican rock bands of the time. If James Brown, Blood Sweat & Tears, and the Doors all moved to Mexico at the same time and played together, it would sound something like 39.4!
