A major road accident was reported in Hyderabad after a speeding Ferrari, allegedly driven by businessman Kranti Reddy, lost control and crashed into multiple vehicles in the upscale Jubilee Hills area on Sunday.
According to police, the luxury sports car reportedly suffered a brake failure and steering lock, causing it to veer onto the wrong side of the road and ram into several cars and two-wheelers coming from the opposite direction.
The impact caused extensive damage to multiple vehicles, while the Ferrari itself was also severely damaged. A light mast installed in the road median was hit and toppled due to the force of the collision.
Several people sustained injuries in the accident and were shifted to nearby hospitals. Police confirmed that the injured are currently out of danger.
Police teams rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information and initiated traffic clearance operations. Vehicular movement in the area was heavily disrupted, with diversions put in place to manage congestion.
A case has been registered based on a complaint filed by one of the victims. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident. The incident has once again intensified concerns over reckless driving and overspeeding involving luxury vehicles.
