Professional and technocrat tahfiz graduates are expected to be highly employable amid strong demand in the engineering sector, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Speaking after attending the Gen Huffaz Teknokrat Mara 2026 assembly on Sunday (March 1), Ahmad Zahid - who chairs the National TVET Committee — said Malaysia needs about 60,000 engineers annually but produces only around 6,000 graduates each year.
He said integrating tahfiz education with technical disciplines strengthens values-based human capital while meeting national needs in high-technology sectors.
