AVON and London met on Facebook a year ago. He told Love Don't Judge, "She popped up on my friend requests, and I was like, wait, this girl is pretty. I honestly thought she was too pretty for me." The pair began chatting and would FaceTime throughout the day. London said, "We'd eat on the phone, we would shower while we were on the phone. We talked so much on the phone to the point we had to start Googling questions to ask each other." They met a month later, when London travelled from Pittsburgh to New York to meet Avon. He asked her to be his girlfriend, and they were long-distance until they decided to live together in an apartment in New York. The couple have gone viral online, with many people not realising that they are both transgender. But once they opened up about their transitions, they were hit with a barrage of hate, with people questioning their sexualities. Avon explained, "People always say, why did you guys transition? Why didn't you just stay the way you were before and just start dating?" London said, "I didn't know him before. Nor did Avon know who I was. We just crossed paths, and everything just happened. [Transitioning] is a gender identity, not a sexuality. And that's what we're trying to get people to understand. People, when they see trans, they sexualise us."
