मिडिल ईस्ट में तनाव एक बार फिर खतरनाक मोड़ पर पहुंच गया है। हिज़्बुल्लाह द्वारा जारी नए बैटलफील्ड वीडियो में दावा किया गया है कि उसके लड़ाकों ने इजराइल के अत्याधुनिक Merkava टैंक को सटीक मिसाइल हमले से निशाना बनाया। वीडियो में देखा जा सकता है कि लेबनान सीमा के पास छिपे ठिकाने से रूसी Kornet एंटी-टैंक मिसाइल दागी जाती है और सीधे टैंक के ट्रैक से टकराती है। धमाके के बाद टैंक के आसपास धुआं उठता दिखाई देता है और इसे युद्धक्षेत्र में निष्क्रिय बताया जा रहा है। हिज़्बुल्लाह का कहना है कि यह हमला उसके नेता हसन नसरल्लाह और ईरान के सुप्रीम लीडर अली खामेनेई की मौत का बदला है। विश्लेषकों के मुताबिक इस तरह के हमले इजराइल के लिए नया खतरा पैदा कर सकते हैं, क्योंकि कर्नेट मिसाइलें भारी बख्तरबंद टैंकों को भी नुकसान पहुंचाने की क्षमता रखती हैं। ऐसे में लेबनान सीमा पर खुला यह नया मोर्चा पूरे मिडिल ईस्ट में युद्ध के और फैलने का संकेत माना जा रहा है।
