On the evening of March 8, 2026, dramatic videos began spreading across social media showing the headquarters of Kuwait’s Public Institution for Social Security burning intensely. This is a major government building responsible for pensions and social insurance for Kuwaiti citizens.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing air defense activity across the city as Kuwait responded to incoming aerial threats.
Soon after, flames erupted inside the tower. Some early reports claimed a direct hit from an Iranian one-way attack drone, often referred to as a suicide drone, similar to the Shahed-series models used across the region.
