In this candid throwback, we go behind the scenes of what it actually looks like to start from zero. This isn't a story about high-end studios or expensive editing software; it’s a masterclass in resourcefulness and the "just start" mentality that defines the most successful creators in 2026.

The Scrappy Start
The speaker reveals their original workflow: "borrowing" their mom’s phone, recording outside to avoid detection, and uploading raw, unedited footage directly to YouTube. For six months, this was the secret operation that laid the foundation for everything that followed. It’s a powerful reminder that execution beats equipment every single time.

The iPhone Gap
The narrative shifts as we enter middle school, where social status was measured by the tech in your pocket. Meeting friends with iPhones highlighted the economic gap, but it also fueled the drive to create. This clip perfectly captures that feeling of being the underdog and using whatever tools are within reach to get your voice heard. Whether you’re a new creator or a seasoned pro, this is a reminder that your biggest obstacle isn't your gear—it’s your hesitation.

Transcript: Pretty sure I would just borrow my mom's phone and go outside and just make a video, upload it to youtube like there's no editing. I would just record it on her phone. Yeah. Record it on her phone and then just post the video straight to youtube just like that and then return it back to her before she noticed that I took her phone. That's fun. That's really what I did for like maybe six months and then I got involved with these friends I had in middle school. They were like twins and they had like iphones and stuff at the time. And to me like how I grew up if you had an iphone back in the day, but you're stinking
