He is the breakout star of Avatar and Terminator: Salvation, but even after the success of both movies actor Sam Worthington said he is still nervous about how fans will take to new blockbuster Clash of the Titans.

"Every movie is daunting," the English-born Australian actor said.

The 33-year-old added: "You don't know what's going to work, and you just hope that you've done your best."

He walked the red carpet at the world premiere with co-star and former Bond girl Gemma Arterton, who confessed her legs were covered in make-up to hide the "war wounds" she suffered making the movie.

Arterton dazzled in a figure-hugging, knee-length black dress, bare legs and towering heels, and had her hair swept up as she debuted her new tattoo, a tribal design behind her ear.

She said: "We all got grazes rolling around in fight scenes which we called Clash Rash."

London's Leicester Square was transformed into ancient Greece for the launch of the 3D action epic on Monday night. Clash of the Titans is released on Friday April 2.
