An unidentified object, believed to be a fragment of a meteorite, has landed on an Israeli beach near the central city of Tel Aviv.
The Israeli police released mobile phone video shot by a lifeguard, which showed the object burning on the beach in the town of Bat Yam, as people gathered round to observe.
Witnesses said the object began burning as it hit the ground. No injuries were reported.
An Israeli police spokesperson said that the object was taken for examination by explosive specialists and will later be studied at a geological institute.
