Dodgy Development: 'Let them come'

2010-05-05 30 Dailymotion

India is the biggest recipient of British aid. £2 billion will have been given by 2011 through the Department of International Development (DFID). This is the third in a series of short films about the DFID in India, shot by Eshwarappa M and Richard Whittell. In 'Let them come', we hear from people who are refusing to leave their lands to the South Korean steel company, POSCO, one of the many multinational mining companies that have been encouraged to come to the state following DFID-initiated reforms. See http://www.corporatewatch.org.uk/?lid... for an introduction to the series and links to interviews with Abhay Sahoo, a leader of the anti-POSCO resistance, and Sudhir Pattnaik, an Orissa based journalist. Voiceover by Joanna Christie Music by Tom Rogerson Distributed by Tubemogul.
