Ariel Aparicio's latest single, "Lucille" is the tale of two hapless souls succumbing to the weight of the world, while discovering strength in Lucille- a figurehead unwilling to share their fate. Apparent from the first hook, "Lucille" is influenced by the genius of acts like Prince and '90s alt-rockers Elastica, yet still allows room for hints of T-Rex and the New York Dolls. Ariel is at the top of his game here, making it obvious that his works should never be assimilated into the endless stream of mindless cookie-cutter rock saturating the scene today. Never one for subtlety, Ariel opts to beat the listener over the head with his strong song-writing and vocals, funk-influenced guitar (provided by Ariel's long-time lead player Steve Dawson), and layers of subtle nuances that seemingly fall together in perfect harmony to create a lush and complex rock 'n roll landscape.
The hot new video features Khalid Rivera, drag queen Dallas Dubois, RingoStyleBaby and singer Ayanna Williams.
