Panamanian forensic teams are searching on for the bodies of at least five people allegedly murdered by US citizen William Dathan Holbert and his girlfriend.
According to persecutor's, Holbert has confessed to killing five people and has been targetting property owners in Panama's Boca del Toro tourist area.
Holbert and his girlfriend were deported in shackles from Nicaragua to Panama on Thursday.
The couple was detained by the Nicaraguan army on the border of Costa Rica on July 27 in connection with the murder of a US woman in Panama last week.
The couple was traveling on board a boat on the San Juan River which separates Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Authorities said they were arrested after they ignored warnings from soldiers to stop.
Panama had requested, via Interpol, the arrest of the two US citizens. Authorities said the suspects appropriated houses and then killed the former owners.
