Sylvester Stallone has spoken about the wider appeal of his new action blockbuster The Expendables.
Stallone said although the film is an action adventure, it should appeal to women too. Speaking about the main female character he said: "It's a woman that gets the ball rolling. It's a woman that gives us back our dignity and heart."
The film's cast features a host of action stars including Bruce Willis, Jet Li, Steve Austin, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren.
Lundgren said there was some good-natured rivalry between the actors: "You know one guy's got bigger arms, one guy's a better actor, one guy's richer... But at the same time we're all in the same team trying to make a great movie."
The Expendables hits UK cinemas on 19 August.
