City Year unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service, giving them the skills and opportunities to change the world. As tutors, mentors and role models, these diverse young leaders help children stay in school and on track, and transform schools and communities across the United States, as well as through international affiliates in Johannesburg, South Africa and London, England. Check us out online at cityyear.org.
Every couple of weeks during a year of service, City Year corps members participate in a community meeting.
The Goals of the Community Meeting are:
1) To reflect on the past weeks of service and things learned and shared.
2) To build the City year Community
3) To inspire the City Year community to continue on this journey and celebrate each other.
This portion of the meeting is called “Ripples”, where corps members share a small, seemingly insignificant act that motivates another person or group to take action.
