School friends Ed Macfarlane, Jack Savidge and Edd Gibson have come a long way since they first formed the band when they were just 14 under the musical influence of German techno label Kompakt, Carl Craig and Prince. Currently signed to XL Recordings, the band’s self-titled debut album was shortlisted for the 2009 Mercury Prize and has since been nominated for two 2010 Brit Awards; Best British Group and British Breakthrough Act. Fans who couldn’t wait to hear tracks from the new album Pala, released in the UK on the 16th May, were treated to a one-off preview at London’s XOYO. WinkBall video reporters Maisa and Fred were there to find out what everybody thought of their new songs and why they love the band. Share your thoughts too and record a video below!
