Lineated Barbet in Corbett Park

2011-07-18 1 Dailymotion

"Lineated Barbet on a Ficus fruit tree in Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand. This is different from the Large Green Barbet as it is found in the Himalayan lower foothills, in the company of the Blue-throated Barbet while at higher altitudes it is replaced by the Himalayan or Great Hill Barbet or the Mewli. Lineated Barbet is an Asian Barbet. Barbets and toucans are a group of near passerine birds with a worldwide tropical distribution. The barbets get their name from the bristles which fringe their heavy bills.
