The family of Amanda Knox arrives to visit her in a Perugia prison - one day before her defence lawyers will make their final arguments urging an Italian court to overturn her murder conviction.
The Seattle student is serving a 26-year jail term after being found guilty along with her Italian ex-boyfriend of murdering her British roommate Meredith Kercher during an orgy that turned violent.
Her hopes of walking out of an Italian prison have been boosted by a forensics review that discredited key DNA evidence used to convict her - and Knox's family say they are optimistic she will return home soon.
During closing arguments by the prosecution, Knox appeared gaunt and pale - as the lawyers described her as a cunning, sex-obsessed girl with a penchant for dangerous games.
Kercher's half-naked body was found in November 2007 with a slit throat and more than 40 wounds in the apartment she shared with Knox in the Umbrian town popular with foreigners studying Italian.
Knox and her ex-boyfriend have consistently maintained their innocence.
