Who or What is a Christian?
- A Christian is a person who adheres to Christianity.
- Christianity is God reaching down to mankind.
Christianity teaches that Jesus, the Son of God, died for our sins, was buried, resurrected, and thereby offers salvation to all who will receive him by faith.
In the Bible we read, "We aren't saved from sin's grasp by knowing the commandments of God, because we can't and don't keep them, but God put into effect a different plan to save us. He sent his own Son in a human body like ours - except that ours are sinful - and destroyed sin's control over us by giving himself as a sacrifice for our sins." (Romans 8:3)
Christianity is a way of life based upon God's love and acceptance and one's love for him.
I love it when my loving Heavenly Father knows what I need before I even ask. It was a Friday and my husband and I had prayed that if God wanted us to attend a conference in another city, we would need him to miraculously supply the money by Monday.
One hour after I prayed, the phone rang and I mentioned my prayer request to my daughter. She said, "I'm sorry Mum that I didn't tell you before, but someone gave me money yesterday, saying that God had told them that you would need money for travel." It was the exact amount that we needed.
