Heightened tensions with Syria did nothing to keep skiers away from the snow covered slopes of Mount Hermon over the weekend. Excellent conditions meant the mountain could open for winter sports. Hermon sits at the edge of a larger mountain chain that extends well into Syria. Syrian skiers can be found on the eastern slopes of the range.
