Defense Minister Ehud Barak refuses to pay for Prime Minister Netanyahu's pet project: a fence spanning the border with Egypt. Baraks refusal stems from objections over spending on the fence instead of other defense needs, such as missile defense systems. Netanyahu says the fence must be built to keep both illegal workers from Africa and Muslim terrorists out of the country. The project would cost more than one billion shekels.
