The US State Department didnt hide its annoyance with Israel during a meeting with Israeli Ambassador to the United States Michael Oren. State Department officials lectured Oren on how disturbed they were that plans to build 1600 news homes in Jerusalems Ramat Shlomo neighborhood coincided with US Vice-President Joe Bidens visit to the region. The crisis in diplomatic ties is considered significant, and is fueled by US President Barack Obamas personal anger over the issue.
