Like every year, the bicycle shops will be busy in Israel the week before Yom Kippur. Children are hovering around shops trying out the most modern models, with the roads pretty much empty on Yom Kippur, children take to the highways and main roads with bicycles. The trend that used only to involve children has spread to adults with the increase in popularity of bicycles among adults as well. Sales in the week before Yom Kippur are always the highest in the year. There are hundreds of different models to choose from this year and the prices vary from expensive to very expensive, for children a new bicycle can cost between 300 to 1,000 shekels and for adults between 1,000 and 30,000 shekels, now that's an expensive set of wheels!
