Israel will deploy six unmanned aerial vehicles and send intelligence officials to northern Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan region unnamed officials said. Iran's Press TV reported Saturday that Kurdish President Massoud Barzani gave Israel the green light to deploy drones in northern Iraq in return for permitting the entry of Iraqi Kurdish students to universities in Israel. An unspecified number of Israeli intelligence agents and military advisers equipped with special transmitting devices will also be sent to Mosul to train Kurdish security forces, the report said. Four drones will be stationed at the Khalidiyah air base in the city of Kirkuk and two drones will be based at an airport in Mosul. There has been no Israeli response to the report.
