If you are a music lover and looking for ways to enjoy the Succoth holiday, the Abu Ghosh Festival music event is a sure winner. The festival takes place twice a year, on Succoth and Shavuoth and is attended by hundreds of people who throng to the village outside of Jerusalem to attend the array of concerts. The majority of concerts are performed in the Crusader Benedictine Church built in the 12the century situated in the heart of the village and the Kiryat Ye'arim Church located at the top of the hill overlooking the village. The festival covers an array of classical and non classical music compositions ranging from composers such as Mendelssohn's Ava Maria, Bach's Gloria, Rossini to Scott Joplin, the Beatles and Joni Mitchell to name just a few. The festival starts on October 19 and runs through until October 22.
