The Mediterranean coastal city of Ashdod is Israels most important port city and is the 5th largest city in the country. Yet despite its important location and size, Ashdod remains a marginalized, almost forgotten city. Now one man is attempting to change that. Dr. Yehiel Lasry is sending waves through the city, by the launching the most viable campaign in the past 20 years to win the position of Mayor of Ashdod, a position which has been occupied by the same man, Tsvi Tsilker, for almost 4 decades. 10/28/08
