Now that pretty much everyone has a smartphone, and face recognition is pretty good, and everyone has put photos of themselves on the Internet, are we about to have a complete loss of public anonymity?"
There is a delicate balance that must be maintained. For every reason systems like these may be useful, there is a counter-argument against any stripping of anonymity.
