Fighting between Afghan forces and Taliban militants in Kabul ended on Monday after 18 hours of gun battles, rocket attacks and explosions.
Officials said at least 19 insurgents, including suicide bombers, died in the attacks for which the Taliban has claimed responsibility.
At least 39 people were wounded, the majority of them police officers.
