Tension surrounds Italy's local elections after a small bomb exploded overnight near a polling station in the northern municipality of Rapallo.
A second suspicious package was found later in Sestri Levante, also in the Genoa region.
No-one was hurt in either incident but it adds to a climate of unease, two days after a bomb attack killed a teenage girl in the south.
