Many Iraqis blame the US for their country descending into violence and chaos during the seven years since tanks rolled into Baghdad, toppling the government of Saddam Hussein.
Over the years since the invasion, an annual protest has taken place against what they call, the "presence of foreign occupiers".
But this year, the demonstrations have been less about division, and more about national unity.
