U.S. singer Lauryn Hill has been charged with willfully failing to file three years of income tax returns with the Internal Revenue Service.
Hill faces three counts of failing to file earnings that totaled more than $1.6 million U.S. dollars between the years of 2005 to 2007.
If found guilty, Hill could serve one year in prison and be fined $100,000 U.S. dollars.
She is scheduled to appear in a New Jersey court on June 29.
