(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) NINA SMIRNOVA, RUSSIAN PILGRIM, SAYING:
"It was like being inside a wave, and we were being shaken. I thought - what's going on? I held on, thinking I need to hold on not to get out of the seat. The driver was really screaming at first, going 'oh, oh!', he was really screaming. There were not any other men there. It was mostly women there."
The Interfax news agency said the pilgrims were heading to an Orthodox Christian monastery.
